Our manufacturing client has enjoyed a sustained period of growth and as a result an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Support Engineer. This role will be based at their premises in Co Down.

The Technical Support Engineer will act as a liaison between the technical team and the sales department. You will support the sales team by selecting heat pump products, understanding the needs of the customers and demonstrating how the products offered can meet those needs. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills and previous experience with heat pumps or similar (such as refrigeration).

Responsibilities:


  • Provide in-depth technical knowledge and support on heat pumps to both the sales team and potential customers.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and propose suitable technical solutions.
  • Assist with the preparation and deliver technical presentations explaining products to customers, contractor and consultancy to demonstrate how they meet their needs.
  • Contribute to the creation of sales materials such as proposals, quotations, technical specifications, and documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing technical support and guidance
  • Communicate customer feedback and technical requirements to the product development team.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and competitors' products to identify new sales opportunities and areas for improvement.

Criteria:

  • Third level qualification in a relevant discipline such as Mechanical Engineering OR equivalent experience working with heat pumps or in refrigeration or similar.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical information to non-technical individuals.
  • Ability to work in a team, collaborate effectively with different departments, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focussed approach.
