Specialist Buyer

Job Description

Our client is a well established manufacturing company in Co Tyrone who are currently in the market for a Specialist Buyer.

The successful Buyer will be required to research new and additional sources of supply with a focus on cost and quality.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and evaluate potential new supply sources
• Oversee the integration of new suppliers into existing company purchasing procedures
• Carry out periodic supplier audits to ensure appropriate standards are being maintained
• Prepare & implement supplier risk mitigation plans
• Identify and take responsibility for projects that will improve the purchasing department
• Obtain best pricing for purchased material to achieve cost savings whilst maintaining full quality priorities
• Ensure the timely purchase of designated raw materials to meet production scheduling needs
• Build strong working relationships with supplier network
• Undertake company travel as required

Criteria:

• Minimum of 2-3 years purchasing/supply chain experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or engineering environment
• Experience co-ordinating and dealing with the importing of raw materials from outside NI
• Proficient in the use of MS Office
• Strong negotiation skills
• Ability to work autonomously and on own initiative
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects to successful completion
• Willingness to undertake travel for company business as required
• Full driving license and access to own transport
• Excellent, effective communication skills both verbal & written

Salary is in the region of £35 – 45k depending upon experience, package includes healthcare, flexible working hours and an early Friday finish!
