Senior Production Manager

Job Description

Energis is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Production Manager for our client based in Drogheda.

With responsibility for production across 2 sites, you will motivate and develop your team, ensuring forecasted production volume is delivered on time, to specification and at optimum cost in line with targeted manufacturing KPIs.

This role has arisen due to internal promotion and is a unique opportunity for a well rounded Production Manager with previous experience at senior level in the FMCG sector.

Responsibilities:

• Drive lean principles, continuous improvement and KPI awareness across teams.
• Work closely with Supply Chain to optimise production schedule and work force planning to achieve labour costs targets.
• Lead, motivate and develop the production leadership teams.
• Ensure there are adequate skills, providing training and coaching for team members.
• Ensure that there are robust open communication forums and feedback mechanisms across all shifts to support continuous improvements and a culture of openness.
• Working with the Head of Operations, develop and implement a production strategy, reviewing long term forecasts ensuring that production capacity and resources are in place and in line with business demands.
• Preparation and control of production budgets and KPIs
• Work with Quality Control to continuously improve quality control standards and good manufacturing practices

Criteria:

• Third level qualification in a technical or business-related discipline e.g. Engineering, Business, Science, Production Management.
• 10+ years senior management experience in high-volume FMCG manufacturing environment
• Experience of managing multi-shift, multi-skilled teams
• Hands-on experience of staff development, engagement and change management
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
• Excellent communication, time management, organisation and presentation skills
• Experience of financial budgetary control and management
• Self-directed, excellent communication skills on technical lead subjects
• Ability to form relationships with stakeholders and work with cross functional teams, up to and including board level.
• Excellent IT skills
