Litigation Solicitor, Belfast, 1-2 years PQE, Up to £32k depending on experience.Progressive law firm in Belfast City Centre wish to recruit an ambitious Litigation Solicitor with experience in mostly personal injury matters.
communicating internally with Head of Department, other team members, support staff and finance department and externally with local and national clients, referrers and other third parties
planning and prioritising case and file management of clients
adhere to the firm’s financial policies of time recording, invoicing and debt recovery according to agreed aims
maintaining existing clients with high standards of client care
developing and taking part in marketing and networking initiatives
assisting Head of Department and other team members as required including holiday cover
conduct and develop a caseload of clients under general supervision of Head of Department across the broad spectrum of Civil Litigation work to include general file maintenance of routine correspondence and telephone calls, legal drafting and advocacy.
It is essential that the applicant have the following qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience.
1-2 years post qualification experience
ability to identify risk and carry out effective risk management
excellent team player
ability to work autonomously with little supervision
ability to manage effectively conflicting priorities
ability to manage challenging clients professionally and with appropriate empathy
initiative and desire to be able to raise the firm’s profile and recognise business opportunities
must be adept in use of MS Office, particularly Word, and ideally case management systems to a basic level, Internet and email
decision maker with an eye for attention to detail and ability to deliver high professional standards of service and client care
ability to supervise support staff
Thorough knowledge of a broad spectrum of civil litigation including personal injury work in both County Court and High Court proceedings as evidenced by caseload currently managed.
Experience of running a civil litigation caseload with modest supervision
