Mechanical Design Engineer

Energis is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business based in Portadown.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 1–2 years’ experience to develop their design career within a successful manufacturing environment. Working as part of the Mechanical Engineering Department, you will be involved in the design, development and validation of new products, working closely with internal teams, suppliers and customers.

The Role:

You will be responsible for:

• Using 3D CAD software to update existing designs and develop new design concepts
• Designing products in accordance with relevant guidelines, standards and legislation
• Participating in concept and design review meetings
• Maintaining and utilising the design document management system
• Creating BOMs and assembly instructions
• Supporting product validation and testing
• Liaising with production teams to support efficient manufacturing
• Providing technical information and advice to Sales, After Sales and customers
• Visiting suppliers and customers, both locally and overseas

About You

• A third-level Engineering qualification, with a minimum of 1-2 year’s experience in a mechanical design role
• Experience using SolidWorks
• An understanding of engineering design principles and manufacturing processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Salary: £29,000–£32,000 depending on experience
