Our Drogheda based client is currently recruiting for a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to join their team. The successful HSE Manager will support the management team in maintaining and developing environmental, health, safety and management systems, and work directly with individuals at all levels in the company on health & safety and matters.

This role would suit someone in an existing HSE Manager role OR an experienced HSE Advisor looking to take the next step in their career.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all health and safety matters and environmental impacts
  • Develop, implement and continually evolution of the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Management systems in line with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and best practices.
  • Monitor, interpret and communicate summaries of standards and regulatory requirements to assure compliance and proactive management of risk to senior management.
  • Investigate with the team root cause analysis of all incidents so that corrective and preventive actions can be identified, communicated and implemented.
  • Analyse HSE metrics and communicate results to senior management and supervisors to drive action, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Establish yearly environmental health and safety objectives, targets and metrics to track, communicate & drive progress
  • Monitoring and reporting of legal compliance
  • Continuously review the HSE Management system through audits and inspections.
  • Conduct, deliver and maintain regulatory training programs to meet EHS requirements.
  • Develop, implement, monitor and review the Emergency Preparedness and Response Plans for all potential emergencies.
  • Participate in the design and development of facilities, work areas, and work procedures and make environmental health and safety recommendations accordingly.
  • Identify CAPEX investment requirements to ensure compliance and enhance safety and environmental compliance in conjunction with the engineering project manager.
  • Create a Risk Management matrix of hazards in the production areas
  • Review Safety Systems of Work, Risk Assessments on a regular basis and provide guidance and feedback

Criteria:

  • Degree/diploma in occupational health & safety OR a degree in Engineering/Facilities Management containing modules relevant to Health & Safety.
  • Proven capability around Health, Safety & Environmental related legislation and practise in Ireland
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience at Health & Safety Officer level within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of developing & maintaining a Health & Safety Management system
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and stakeholders.
  • Gathering, analysing, and reporting on key Health & Safety data/statistics
  • Ability to co-operate with others to complete tasks and implement H&S process improvements.

An attractive package is on offer with a basic salary up to €85k depending upon experience, plus a significant bonus and pension.
