Health & Safety Manager

Job Description

Energis is recruiting a Health & Safety Manager to work with our busy retail client, a leading name in their industry with their offices in Dundalk.

The primary purpose of this role is to manage the delivery of Health and Safety across a number of retail establishments and offices. This is a hybrid role which will also require some travel to sites around Ireland.

Health & safety experience from all industries will be considered.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Senior Management in developing group strategy and policy setting, advising managers on its implementation, and on the application of the systems and procedures.
• Development of effective and comprehensive H&S management system ensuring the group remains legally compliant.
• Support local site management teams to achieve acceptable and consistent standards.
• Co-ordination of reportable accidents, incidents, near misses and where applicable RIDDOR.
• Analysis of reports for trends and patterns.
• Assist in the co-ordination and delivery of H&S training across the company which may include: IOSH – Safety for Senior Executives, Managing Safely, Working Safely and fire safety.
• Co-ordinate auditing on a regular basis and make recommendations for improvements
• Keep fully aware of legislation, codes of practice, best practice etc. and disseminate information to Managers.
• Liaise with enforcement authorities and other agencies including fire authorities.
• Analyse and defend civil claims and prosecutions levelled against the Division.
• Co-ordinate accident investigations and corrective action.
• Maintain effective and regular communication with all directors and ensure that any significant risk is highlighted to the with practical solutions where necessary.

Criteria:

• Valid Qualification in occupational Health and Safety – E.g., IOSH/NEBOSH
• Fire Safety qualification
• Outstanding attention to detail
• Competent in the use of Word, Excel and Power Point
• Articulate and methodical with the ability to work to strict deadlines and on own initiative whilst keeping colleagues closely informed
• Ability to work as part of a team and to interface with other departments
• Experience of a working in a multi-site organisation is highly desirable

Salary is in the region of €55k + car depending on experience.
