Design Manager – Manufacturing, Co Antrim

As a key member of the senior management team, the successful Design Manager will be responsible for the production, quality and management of drawing and specifications to customer requirements in a timely and cost effective manner.

Responsibilities:

• As part of the senior management team contribute to the development of relevant aspects of the business strategy and operations
• Responsible for the effective operation of the design department including management of design engineers.
• Ensure legislative requirements are met and adhered to.
• Ensure drawings, specifications and technical requirements are prepared for Customers, Sales & Production as required
• Certify specifications received from the sales department
• Assist with costing of Products
• Assist in Development of New Products; Modify existing products for efficiency and cost reasons
• Management of Design Changes
• Maintain the production schedules
• Ensure all functionally checks are completed prior to delivery
• Contribute to improving production techniques
• Liaise with and assist Production Managers to ensure Quality and On time Delivery of Product
• Assist stores personnel with material management issues and cost management
• Report on feedback and improvements through assessing customer concerns

Criteria:

• Qualified to degree level in Engineering or related
• Previous experience of Solidworks
• Exceptionally well developed interpersonal skills with effective influencing skills
• Evidence of effective organisational, planning and time management skills
• Superior attention to detail
• Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite
• Previous people management experience is highly desirable, however candidates looking for that next step up will be considered

Salary is in the region of £50k depending upon experience.
