Compliance Specialist

Energis Recruitment is currently recruiting a Compliance Specialist on behalf of our client based in County Antrim. This role has arisen due to continued business growth into the European market. The successful Compliance Specialist will ensure that projects, operations, and business practices adhere to all relevant EU-wide and national regulations. The successful candidate will play a key part in maintaining the company’s reputation for safety, integrity, and operational excellence across all projects.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure full compliance with UK and EU directives relating to construction, safety, and environment.
- Monitor changes in European national construction legislation and advise management on regulatory impacts.
- Liaise with local authorities, auditors, and legal teams regarding permits, licenses, and certifications.
- Manage documentation for cross-border compliance
- Support site managers and project leads in achieving full regulatory and procedural compliance.
- Ensure subcontractors and suppliers comply with contractual obligations and standards
- Support internal investigations or audits into compliance breaches when required.
- Maintain comprehensive records of project certifications, permits, and compliance audits.
- Assist in preparing documentation for regulatory inspections and tenders.
- Provide ongoing guidance to project managers, engineers, and subcontractors on regulatory requirements.
- Foster a culture of compliance and integrity throughout the organisation.
Criteria:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in compliance within construction or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of UK and EU regulatory frameworks
- Ability to manage compliance across multiple EU jurisdictions.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills with keen attention to detail.
- Clear, confident communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong planning and problem-solving capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Engineering, Environmental Science, or Compliance Management is highly desirable
