CAD Technician

Job Description

Based in Co Antrim, our client is an award winning and forward thinking manufacturing company who are now on the market for an experienced CAD Technician. You will join a growing Design team using AutoCAD for new designs and amending existing technical drawings for construction related products and structures.

Working closely with the Technical Manager on a variety of challenging and innovative projects, the role will provide the opportunity to gain experience across other areas of the technical function, such as assisting with product quality.

The role:

• Produce Product and General Arrangement drawings using AutoCAD
• Maintain project records.
• Liaise with the factory production teams.
• Contribute to the formulation of design concepts and approaches using CAD software packages and 3D modelling tools.
• Maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities.
• Provide mentoring for apprentice members of staff and assist them to develop their CAD skills.
• Deliver and be accountable for work packages.

Criteria:

• 3rd level qualification in a relevant engineering / construction or related discipline.
• Experience with AutoCAD and familiar with technical/construction drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Salary is dependent upon experience and in the region of £30k. There is also an excellent benefits package including bonus, pension and private healthcare.
