Job Description

Our client is a well established manufacturing company based just north of Dublin who are currently on the market for an experienced Buyer. Both contract and permanent options available.

Responsibilities:

• Purchase direct materials to support Production and Service in line with business demands
• Maximise the use of ‘Lean Supply’ methods to meet delivery and inventory objectives
• Monitor key metrics in the areas of on-time delivery, inventory, cost, quality and service to achieve agreed targets
• Lead significant issue resolution programs with suppliers, with Engineering and Quality
• Conduct Business Reviews with suppliers to ensure that performance is to target, and any required improvements are agreed
• Contribute to the site Productivity program through the implementation of cost reduction projects and part transfers
• Work with Strategic Procurement to advance the performance and optimization of the supply base

Criteria:

• Minimum level 7 qualification in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related discipline
• Minimum of 2-3 years professional experience in Procurement within a manufacturing / high volume environment.
• Experience dealing with a broad range of suppliers
• Capable of negotiating with and influencing suppliers to deliver business results
• Established commercial mind-set with the ability to assess and conclude business decisions with suppliers
• Problem solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset

Salary is in the region of €60-65k with a benefits package including bonus scheme, healthcare, pension.
