Job Description

Based near Ballymena, our engineering client is currently seeking an experienced Buyer to join their purchasing team.

Reporting into the Purchasing Manager the successful buyer will negotiate and administer the purchasing of materials, plant, specialist supply chain and labour on behalf of the company.

Responsibilities:

• Meet and negotiate with suppliers, developing effective relationships
• Resolve discrepancies with suppliers and deal with any queries between site, suppliers and accounts.
• Ensure return / safe storage / re-use or disposal of stocked material.
• Raise purchase orders on the accounts system
• Process purchase orders with specific T&C’s and contract conditions
• Liaise closely in all matters regarding the management of returns

Criteria:

• Previous experience in purchasing with strong administrative skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both internal and external parties
• Computer literate with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Packages
• Good attention to detail and ability to work on own initiative
• Experience within the construction / engineering sectors highly desirable

Salary is in the region of £26 /27k plus pension and generous leave entitlement, plus an early finish on Fridays!
