Our client is a well-established manufacturing organisation offering bespoke solutions to a diverse customer base across the construction sector.

Sustained growth and new business wins have prompted the need to appoint an experienced Operations Manager coming from a manufacturing / construction background. You will oversee all operational aspects of this multi-million pound business - areas of responsibility include production, H&S and maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • You will efficiently and effectively manage the company’s day-to-day operations in their entirety, ensuring continuous improvement is evident throughout the process.
  • Ensure production runs safely and efficiently whilst driving a continuously improving environment to maximise performance.
  • Meet and exceed operational KPIs as agreed, continuously reviewing and developing measurement criteria in order to support continuous process improvement.
  • Identify best practice and behaviour and ensure that this is embedded into the process at all levels
  • Responsible for managing and motivating staff, setting clear strategic objectives across all departments
  • Management of capital improvement initiatives, focusing on added value activity and waste reduction
  • Direct the team with respect to volume, cost, quality and meeting schedules and delivery dates.
  • Ensure effective housekeeping

Criteria:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing / construction environment, overseeing multiple departments
  • Min 3-5 years previous experience of people management and development
  • Knowledge of lean / continuous improvement techniques
  • A strong work ethic with good organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills

Salary will be reflective of experience, and in the region of £50 – 60k + benefits including pension and healthcare.
