Our client based in Co Monaghan is a successful food manufacturing company with a global customer base who has enjoyed a sustained period of growth. An opportunity has now arisen for an experienced Group Auditor / Technical Advisor to join their team.

The Group Auditor/Technical Advisor will be responsible for assisting in the management of the Quality Management System and the internal audit function for the group ensuring all sites comply with both customer and food legislative requirements. You will be responsible for liaising with external & internal sites on a variety of tasks regarding compliance to third party & customer standards.

The role requires knowledge and understanding of food quality / safety legislation as well as a practical approach to communicating the importance of record keeping and policy implementation on sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing supplier approval and third party accreditations for all sites
  • Assisting in the organisation of audits with third party bodies.
  • Assisting in the management of the QMS E.g. conducting gap analysis of new standards and implementing changes in QMS.
  • Conducting audits on a scheduled basis, as per risk assessment.
  • Auditing as a continuous improvement tool (i.e. driving corrective action) in order to achieve compliance to third party and customer schemes on all primary suppliers; communicating findings to stakeholders.
  • Closing out non-conformances identified in audits.
  • Keep abreast of changing legislation/ upcoming standard changes.
  • Support, train and develop Quality Assurance and Operations Teams across the group to meet current and future departmental needs, ensuring good performance management.

Criteria:

  • Degree in Food / Agricultural science (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ previous experience in Food Quality/Safety
  • Experience of assisting in or carrying out internal audits (Formal Internal Audit training is desirable)
  • Understanding of HACCP Principles (HACCP training desirable)
  • Basic understanding of Fresh Produce Standards
  • Working experience of Food Industry Standard e.g. BRC, IFS, SQF.
  • Working experience with Customer Codes of Practice (Sainsbury’s, Lidl, Tesco M&S etc)
  • Flexibility is required to conduct unannounced unscheduled audits as the business requires.
  • Flexibility in relation to National & International travel
  • Full, clean driving license and access to your own vehicle

Salary is dependent upon experience and will be discussed upon application.
